Blogging about the things that I love to do including learning and implementing homesteading, sustainability and permaculture practices into my daily life. I also use this blog as an online journal writing about the day in and day out happenings in my life which include balancing family, work and the needs of the homestead, all while keeping in mind that you have to stop and smell the roses and count your blessings along the way.

How not to cut trees....
I had to post this picture. Those chain saws are stuck hard in the tree. My good friend has been trying to help me clear some of the dead trees from my very wooded property, he does not cut trees very often so there is a learning curve. My 18 year old son and I laughed so hard at this predicament we had to take a picture. We ended up getting the chainsaws cut out with a hatchet without damaging them. Unfortunately, five minutes later he did it again. Some lessons take a little longer to learn. It's so good to have help with big jobs like this.

The homestead dreamer should really think long and hard before choosing between buying raw land and an established place with electricity...
Funny Picture! I have done this with one chainsaw but not with two yet!
ReplyDeleteOMGoodness, He really doesn't learn well does he? Perhaps he needs to get on-line and google "Tree Chopping". The blades look nice and long! Perhaps he forgot to eat his Wheaties! lol ...debbie
ReplyDeleteVery funny!
ReplyDeleteOh.... I got my hubby a chainsaw for a Christmas present. I hope his learning curve is a bit better than your friend's. Of course, he's planning to have my Dad come up to supervise (he's not doing as much helping now at 84!) since Dad has been cutting trees for wood heat for 30 years or more.
ReplyDeleteI hope the rest of the cutting goes more smoothly.

I hope he was not trying to impress you with his manly chain saw. Its a guy thing. I have experienced this first hand with my DH (hope he's not looking over my shoulder reading this) it always seems to be the saw's fault.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all that tangerine looks delectable down there! Second...I cannot believe we were living in the same neck of the woods in California!! I actually lived in Belmont Shore for several years (and San Pedro prior to that). What a small world! I used to go to Ports 'o Call with my family...remember when you used to eat fish or crab right out there on the benches? :)
ReplyDeleteI am adding you to my blogroll so I remember to come by! Thank you for visiting me and Happy New Year!
xoxo
